The Beginning
Why We Embarked on Our Halal Journey
For Yangfu Jin, a time-honored condiment brand with roots dating back to 1980, our halal journey began not just as a business decision, but as a promise to respect the faith and taste of every Indonesian consumer. When we first set our sights on Indonesia—the world’s largest Muslim-majority nation and a vibrant hub of culinary diversity—we knew that halal was not merely a label, but the foundation of trust between our brand and the people of this beautiful country.
With a legacy of crafting high-quality condiments, from chicken essence to compound seasonings, we understood that entering Indonesia’s market required more than just great flavor. It demanded a deep commitment to Islamic principles, rigorous standards, and a genuine understanding of what halal means to Indonesian families. In 2023, we officially started our halal certification process, guided by the regulations of Indonesia’s BPJPH (Halal Product Assurance Agency) and the teachings of the Indonesian Council of Ulama (MUI). This was the first step in our journey to bring Yangfu Jin’s authentic flavors to Indonesia, while honoring the traditions and beliefs that shape daily life here.
Our halal journey is a journey of humility and learning—learning to adapt our century-old recipes to meet halal standards, learning to navigate the intricate certification process, and learning to connect with Indonesian consumers on a level that goes beyond food. It is a journey that reminds us: great flavor is universal, but trust is earned through respect. And for us, respecting Indonesia’s halal culture is the first ingredient in every bottle of Yangfu Jin seasoning we bring to this market.
To ensure every product meets the strictest halal requirements, we have rebuilt our production lines with halal compliance as the core principle, from raw material selection to finished product packaging. We established a dedicated halal supervision team, composed of professionals familiar with Islamic teachings and BPJPH regulations, who conduct full-process inspections—from verifying the halal status of raw material suppliers to monitoring the production process to avoid cross-contamination with non-halal ingredients. We also invited MUI scholars to conduct on-site guidance, ensuring that every link, from the sourcing of spices to the addition of additives, aligns with Islamic dietary norms, so that every bottle of Yangfu Jin seasoning not only tastes authentic but also carries the reassurance of halal certification.
